Answers to the questions we are asked most about ordering, shipping, returns, fit and the products we make. If your question is not here, call 877-750-9239, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern, or email support@thinkcrucial.com.

Ordering and shipping

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order shipped to the 50 US states, including Hawaii, and to Puerto Rico, with no minimum order size. Standard delivery takes 7 to 12 business days. See the shipping and returns page for details.

When will my order ship?

Our warehouse ships Monday through Friday. Orders placed before 12pm Eastern on a weekday ship the same day, and orders placed after 12pm ship the next business day. Major holidays are excluded.

Can I get my order faster?

Yes. Expedited 3 to 5 business day and 2 business day shipping options are offered at checkout for orders shipped within the United States, at the rates shown on the shipping and returns page. The same 12pm Eastern cutoff applies for same-day dispatch.

Do you ship outside the United States?

We ship to the United States and to Canada. Canadian orders are charged a flat shipping rate at checkout. We do not currently ship to any other country.

How do I track my order?

When your order ships you will receive an email with the tracking number. If you do not see it, check your spam folder, then email support@thinkcrucial.com or call 877-750-9239 and we will look it up for you.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible by calling 877-750-9239, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern, or by emailing support@thinkcrucial.com with the subject line Order Cancellation and your order number. Once an order has been processed for shipment we cannot change it, but you can return it under our 30-day return policy.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and PayPal.

Returns, refunds and guarantee

What is your return policy?

If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return it for a full refund within 30 days of the shipment date. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. Return shipping within the United States is free with a prepaid label. The full policy is on the shipping and returns page.

How do I start a return?

Email support@thinkcrucial.com or call 877-750-9239 with your order number and we will send you a prepaid return label. Pack the item in its original packaging or any plain box, remove any old shipping labels, attach the return label and drop the package at your local post office. Customers outside the United States should contact us for a return authorization before shipping anything back.

When will I get my refund?

Returns take 1 to 2 weeks to reach us and be processed. Once the refund is issued, allow another 2 to 5 days for it to appear, depending on your card issuer.

What if the part does not fit or does not work?

Return it within 30 days at no cost to you. Contact us and we will help you find the right part and process an exchange; the replacement ships free and your refund for the returned item is processed as soon as we receive it. Telling us what went wrong also helps us improve the product.

Do you price match?

Yes. If an established US online retailer lists the identical item in stock for less, including shipping and fees, contact us before you order and we will match it once we confirm the price. Refurbished, closeout, auction, promotional and quantity-discount prices are excluded, and requests are limited to two per customer in any 60-day period. The full terms are on the price match guarantee page.

Compatibility and fit

How do I know a part will fit my machine?

Every product page lists the OEM part numbers and model numbers the part replaces. Match your model number against that list before you order; manufacturers often change part numbers from year to year even when the part stays the same, so the list matters more than the number on your old part. If you are not sure, send the brand and model number to support@thinkcrucial.com and we will match the part for you.

Where do I find my model number?

Most vacuums have a data plate with the model and serial number. On upright vacuums it is usually on the back of the machine behind the hose and attachments; on canister vacuums it is usually on the bottom of the unit. Other appliances typically carry the plate on the base or the back.

Are your parts genuine OEM parts?

No. Think Crucial parts are compatible replacement parts that we engineer to fit and work in a specific appliance, using the original part as the reference. Brand names on our product pages are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say what a part fits; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by those manufacturers.

Will using a compatible part affect my appliance warranty?

It may. Each manufacturer sets its own warranty terms, and using a non-OEM part or descaler can affect coverage. Check your warranty terms if that matters to you.

Our parts and how they are made

Who makes Think Crucial products?

We do. The vacuum filters, bags, belts and hoses, the air-purifier and humidifier filters, the AeroGarden-compatible grow bulbs, and the descalers and cleaners are designed, made and shipped by Think Crucial. We do not resell other companies' parts. Read more on our about page.

How do you make a compatible part?

We start from the OEM part number and the models it serves, then take the measurements that decide whether a part works: outside dimensions, mounting tabs and seal surfaces, filter media type and depth, belt length and profile, hose diameter and cuff fit. The part is made to those measurements and the fit is checked before it is listed.

How often should I change my vacuum filter?

Most manufacturers recommend every 3 to 6 months, and sooner with heavy use or if anyone in the home has allergies. Many newer vacuums use more than one filter, so check your manual for each location. Browse vacuum filters.

How do I know if my vacuum belt needs replacing?

With use the belt stretches and loses tension on the brush roller, so the roller turns more slowly and leaves debris in the carpet. A belt can look fine and still be slipping, so replacing it about every 3 months keeps the vacuum working properly. Browse vacuum belts and parts.

How often should I change my air purifier filter?

Most manufacturers recommend every 3 to 6 months for the main filter, and more often for allergy or asthma sufferers. Carbon pre-filters, which trap larger particles and odors before the main filter, are usually changed every 2 to 4 weeks. Browse air purifier filters.

Descalers and cleaners

What is in your descalers?

Most of the line is built on food-grade citric acid at 25% to 44%, which dissolves limescale and rinses out without residue. Some formulas add lactic acid, and formulas for appliances with aluminum boilers or nickel-plated parts are buffered with sodium citrate so they dissolve scale without attacking the metal. There are no phosphates, chlorine bleach, EDTA, borates, fragrance or dye, and most formulas are two to four ingredients. See the full range at cleaners and descalers.

Where are your descalers made?

They are formulated by us and bottled in small batches in Hollywood, Florida, with US-sourced ingredients.

How much descaler do I use?

For an electric kettle, add 2 tablespoons of concentrate, fill with water and boil. For a dishwasher, pour 2 tablespoons into the bottom of the empty tub and run a hot cycle with no detergent. For a coffee maker, add 2 tablespoons for soft water or up to 4 tablespoons for hard water to the reservoir, top up with water and run the descale cycle. Step-by-step guides: kettle, dishwasher, coffee maker.

How often should I descale?

Water hardness sets the schedule. As a baseline, descale a kettle every 2 to 4 months, a dishwasher monthly, and a coffee maker every 1 to 3 months. On hard water move to the short end of each range; on soft or filtered water the long end is enough.

Can I use vinegar or bleach instead?

Vinegar is acetic acid, which is weaker on limescale than citric acid, and its smell and taste linger through several rinses. Bleach does not dissolve scale at all, is not safe in an appliance you drink from, and must never be mixed with an acid descaler.
