Full product description
A buffered citric acid descaler for Philips 3200, 4300 and 5400 LatteGo and Saeco super-automatic espresso machines. One 16 fl oz bottle covers 7 descales.
Features:
- PHILIPS 3200 4300 5400 & SAECO* – Espresso machine descaling solution for EP3241 EP4321 EP5441 Saeco Incanto Xelsis. Model-specific descale activation for all Philips LatteGo and Saeco super-automatics. Professional quarterly maintenance descaler.*
- 35% Citric Acid Buffered – Descaler for espresso machine delivers 22.2g per cycle. Sodium citrate protects aluminum boilers and brew groups. Concentrated liquid descaler removes limescale and calcium deposits efficiently. Professional descaling solution formula.
- Aluminum-Safe Buffered Formula – Sodium citrate buffer (pH 1.8-2.1) protects aluminum boilers unlike pure citric descalers. Made in USA. Professional formula designed for Philips and Saeco precision brewing components.
- Aquaclean Filter Protocol – Remove filter before descaling (damages carbon media). Store in water, reinstall after rinse. Complete activation instructions for all Philips and Saeco series. Quarterly descaling or when CALC/CLEAN light illuminates.
Dose and how to use:
Each descale uses one-seventh of the bottle, about 2.3 fl oz (68 ml): 16 fl oz ÷ 7 descales. The label prints the measure and the CALC/CLEAN or Settings sequence for each Philips series.
- Take out the AquaClean filter and keep it in a glass of water.
- Pour one dose into the water tank and fill it with water to MAX.
- Start descaling from CALC/CLEAN or the Settings menu, as your model's sequence on the label shows.
- Run the full rinse cycle, then put the AquaClean filter back.
- Repeat every 3 months, or when the CALC/CLEAN light comes on.
Why it's buffered:
Philips and Saeco machines have aluminum boilers. We buffer the citric acid with sodium citrate so the working pH dissolves scale without attacking the metal.
Machines:
Philips 3200 (EP3221, EP3227, EP3241, EP3243, EP3246), 4300 (EP4321, EP4327, EP4343) and 5400 LatteGo (EP5441, EP5443), plus Saeco Incanto and Xelsis.
Questions
How much do I use per descale?
About 2.3 fl oz (68 ml), one-seventh of the 16 fl oz bottle. Follow the measure on the label.
Do I remove the AquaClean filter first?
Yes. Descaler damages the filter's carbon media. Keep the filter in water while you descale and put it back after the rinse.
Why not a plain citric acid descaler?
Philips and Saeco boilers are aluminum. The sodium citrate buffer keeps the acid working on scale while going easier on the metal.
