Most beer line cleaners on the shelf are borax-based. California listed sodium tetraborate as a reproductive toxin under Prop 65 in December 2024, which is why so many of them now ship with a warning label on a product that touches your draft lines.
This one does not use borax. It is a plant-derived liquid built on decyl glucoside surfactant with a food-grade sodium citrate buffer, and it carries no Prop 65 warning. No enzymes either, so it does not degrade on the shelf the way enzymatic cleaners do — 3+ year shelf life against the usual 12-month best-by. 16 cleanings per bottle at standard dose.
